Students will understand how living things depend on one another and on non-living aspects of the environment.  Students will be able to:

2.  Describe how almost all animals' food can be traced back to plants.

Our student teacher, Mrs. Hobbs, taught a unit on local medicinal plants.  Each student was assigned a different local plant to research. Students looked up: the Latin name, drew a picture of their plant, and wrote how  it was historically used.

                              

 Students completed a chart of their assigned plant.
