Melanie Saucier is a seven year old singer from Fort Kent,
Maine. She performs locally and in both French and English. She
volunteered her talents to entertain students in her peer-age group with
traditional French songs.

Students listened to a concert of songs presented by this talented first
grader. Melanie performed a variety of old French/Acadian/Canadian songs to
the delight of both Wallagrass and Dr. Levesque School's second graders.

pictures. Since UMFK students participated at all levels of this
project, his visit was to gather information for a future article in UMFK's
