Local college education students who are majoring in French, spent time  with the class discussing the language, traditions, landmarks, and historical connections of France to the St. John Valley.

1. Recognize that there are other nations with different traditions and practices.

Students from the University of Maine at Fort Kent were invited to our classroom to speak about France. Meghan and Sarah (UMFK students)  dressed in traditional costumes, explaining a motor coordination lesson.  

The French lesson included playing a facts game and having the students work cooperatively to make a model of the Eiffel Tower.  Sarah holds one group's completed model on which students wrote information about France on the back side of  the project.

Students worked cooperatively to build models of the Eiffel Tower.

Additional UMFK students dropped by to talk about their experiences in France. They answered student questions.
