Cultural Exchange Afternoon Agenda

bullet Students started the afternoon by presenting their Philip Long Play to second grade Wallagrass School students, their penpals.
bullet A  PowerPoint presentation on Philip Long was presented by two students.
bullet Wallagrass students talked about the history of their town and of their school.
bulletOur class told of the history of our schools.
bulletMolasses cookies were served as a traditional snack..
bulletRoger St. Onge talked about the history of the accordion and demonstrated the accordion's basic features.  He played some songs.  He also played and talked about the harmonica.  Students danced "La Danse des Canards" to the accompaniment of the accordion.
bulletManon accompanied Roger while playing the spoons.  Then she showed both classes of second graders how to play spoons.  Students played spoons to the beat of traditional music.
bulletMelanie Saucier, a talented young singer from Fort Kent, first grader at Fort Kent Elementary School, sang a variety of French songs to the delight of the group. 
bulletFarewell to our penpals. A picture was taken for the St. John Valley Times in front of the school bus. Then we gave our farewell to our student teacher.
