Conditional/Targeted Need Certificate
The conditional/targeted-need certificate is a one-year renewable certificate given to personnel who are working to obtain a full endorsement. The conditional/targeted-need plan is usually made up of course work designated by the Department of Education. A mentor will be assigned to the candidate.
Upon completion of a pre-approved teacher action plan and success in
compiling archival evidence of performance meeting Maine's teaching
standards, the candidate will be recommended for
renewal or upgrade to professional certification.
